Meet Crystal

Growing up in smalltown Bath, Maine, I couldn’t wait to leave and learn about the world beyond. My family worked at Bath Iron Works; we often lived paycheck-to-paycheck to make ends meet. I ended up moving to the big city of Atlanta, then spent time living overseas in Kyiv, Ukraine, moved back to Massachusetts, and then Charleston, before I finally came back “home” to Maine.

I have a true appreciation for hard-working people (especially after spending a summer working in the bottom of a BIW destroyer ship as a pipe coverer, myself), and GREAT respect for small business owners who work long hours, take on many roles, and need good people in their corner helping them.

After spending a decade in healthcare, then another decade writing and editing novels, I stepped into the unknown world of payment processing and payroll. Too quickly, I learned how business owners had been oversold and underdelivered. They paid for POS systems they didn’t need, they leased equipment for years and years, and they became sadly accustomed to ever-increasing fees and the oftentimes shady practices of “salespeople” who put their own commissions before clients’ best interests.

During the day, I am out in the Southern Maine and Northern New Hampshire communities, knocking on doors of businesses, looking for opportunities to help save businesses money, time or both. I’m actively involved with BNI and TBD Networking groups, and I love what I do.

I work with integrity and always respond to my clients’ calls and emails. Over the last few years, I have reduced business operating expenses by thousands of dollars.

After hours and on the weekends, you can find me writing my latest novel or helping another writer with theirs. If I’m not writing or reading, I’m out on the tennis courts, trying to learn golf, climbing up a rock wall, or on the river paddle boarding.
